Since I last posted I've taken on about 8 (maybe less, not all have come to fruition) freelance writing gigs and I have no time to write, just to write. This blog, however, is a priority because this is my main instrument.
I also took a gig playing for a local training Orchestra where I'm playing on the premiere of the Conductor's 3rd Symphony.
I'll be doing some excerpt studies on here to sort of get everyone through the process of learning long and drawn out Symphonic Lietrature.
Stick around and hopefully I can get something good up here.

Hi, this has nothing to do with your post, but I have a question and I think that you might have good advice. I'm considering buying a Leblanc bass and I was wondering about the differences between the older ones (400, 417, etc) and the LL's. Could you shed some light on this subject, please? Well, I'm only about five years late on this one. The newer horns are not as robust as the newer ones. Leblancs that were made before the takeover in 2003-04 are going to feel more full and be pretty heavy. The newer horns are a little lighter, and the bore is not as big. They are not bad, but they're just not my thing.
